Saddle Bronc

The "Classic" rodeo event. As a contest, saddle bronc riding has its beginning over a century ago when ranch crews got together to match their "top hands". NYRA rules are, with minimal exception, identical to the official rules of the PRCA. The rider must last 8 seconds for Seniors. The horse and rider are both scored from 0 to 25 points, the contestant's spurring motion is vital to the score. As a bronc leaps from the chute, the rider "grabs" with his spurs, raking them back toward the cantel of the saddle. As the horse hits the ground with his front feet, the rider's feet must swing forward and reach the point of the shoulders at the same instant.
